Our first Cambridge Checkpoint cohort sat their papers this term.
Checkpoint is not a pass-or-fail examination. It is a diagnostic, marked in Cambridge and reported back strand by strand, so we learn precisely where a class is strong and where it is not.
That is the reason we use it. A school can tell itself almost anything about how well it teaches; an external mark scheme cannot be talked round.
Individual reports go home to families, and the strand-level picture shapes what we teach differently next year.
